Trudeau 15-Piece Stoneware Cheese-Fondue Pot with Lazy Susan Review

I hadn't done fondue since I was a kid, and this easy, pretty set brought back the memories! It's well constructed, the "lazy susan" aspect is really convenient and it's pretty! The cheese scorched a little on the bottom, but if I add some olive oil first it stopped doing that. I would recommend this, especially as a first time set.

great product but broken upon receipt. - Amanda Baab -
great product but the stoneware was cracked when I received the item. it was a gift so it wasn't opened until it was too late to send the product back. thankfully my sister didn't mind the broken dish and just glued it back together. a safer method of shipping would've been preferred.

Good value for money - R. Deo - Seattle, WA, USA
This is a good set that meets our needs. The lazy susan is a nice feature, and the stand is a good safety feature. Little bulky to store, but is perfect for a family of 4.

Has some good points, and some bad points - Laura I - Fairchild AFB, WA
I've been meaning to get a new fondue pot for awhile. this one happened to be part of Amazon's "4 for 3" kitchen deal they were holding, so I got it.

I like that the fondue pot and dipping trays are glazed stoneware. When I first saw the picture online, I assumed that it was plastic and when I read in the description that it was stoneware I was pretty happy about that. I don't remember if it says so or not, but I think it's definitely dishwasher safe, at least it is with my dishwasher (sans metal parts).

The metal frame comes in a couple of pieces that you have to assemble by simply fitting it together, no tools required. Unfortunately, the metal frame holding the spinning trays is actually two pieces, and this is a bit of a problem for me. It tends to wobble and be off centered, and God help you if you don't fill up all 4 trays with an even weight of food (or if someone eats from one tray faster then the others) because then it's really off center!

Also, when I first used it, I filled up the fondue pot and trays in the kitchen, with the intention of then carrying it to the table. Well.. my problem was, "how do you pick it up?" As I mentioned before, it's not very stable. It can be moved, but it's a bit cumbersome. It would probably benefit from some sort of handle. Finally, the product description mentions a "recipe booklet". This so called recipe booklet is safety instructions on using gel-fuel and then a single recipe for traditional fondue. Of course you can find plenty of recipes all over the internet, but I found it to be a bit misleading that it says, "recipe booklet".

That said, I do like the fondue set, but there are most definitely better ones out there for a similar price.
